Our client came to us with an idea of a stellar restomod to cruise in with his family. We found the perfect car: a first-generation Chevelle. In 1967, the Chevelle received a facelift before going into its new body style in 1968. The car was unique, clean, and had the potential for a mean, aggressive presence. Once we got the car to our facility, we got to work revising and redesigning what this classic muscle car could be. After quite a few discussions, we decided to swap a GM crate LS3 with a T-56 magnum into it. The team made the necessary calls, ordered everything necessary, and began to disassemble the vehicle. The body was pulled from the frame so we could clean and strengthen it, then we powder-coated the frame. While we had the body off, we installed a Ridetech air suspension and Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners. Once the swap was complete, we placed the body back on the frame and got to work on the interior. We sourced an original 1967 Chevelle bench seat and reupholstered the entire interior in a deep blood red. We put in a hidden sound system and a Vintage Air Unit to maintain the original classic look of the vehicle while adding all the modern amenities. An American Autowire wiring harness tied the entire car together. Just recently the “Rebel,” as the team dubbed it, received a fresh paint job in Rebel Grey with all satin black accents.
